I haven’t used forum marketing much lately because I do not see much links back from forum signatures that google recognizes.
Popular forums that get a lot of traffic and have a lot of active members are the best for getting links from and they do turn up in Google’s results. Type in a keyword / phrase in Google, click on show options then click on forums on the left and you will see forums that have that search term. If you can wrap a link with good solid content, a forum post, then you will garner even better links than if you just use the signature file (body links are seen as being more editorial in nature).
Forums like Digital Point and the Warrior Forum can send 100s of visitors to your website when you post quality content.
