I recently created a post about Polite SEO that spoke about blog commenting as a way of building links and how NOT to do it!
The secondary reason was that Polite SEO generates 170 global searches per month according to the Google Keyword Tool.
As it never hurts to go after the low hanging fruit I figured I would target polite SEO and see what happens.
What I discovered when I was checking on my progress is quite interesting and something I want to share with you.
In the picture above you will see my Twitter update that has been indexed by Google. When I typed Polite SEO into Google I found that I am on the first page for the term and along with this Tweet.
The take-away from this is that using Twitter can be a good way to help you go after the low hanging fruit, those easy to rank-for keywords that may just bring you a few extra visitors each month.
I recommend you don’t waste too much time on the ultra low hanging fruit but, at the same time, I would also argue that if you keep building this pages you will end up with a decent chunk of traffic as time goes by.
You can connect with me on Twitter @karlfoxley, I hope to see you there.
To your success,
Karl Foxley
P.s. You can update your Twitter account each time you update your self-hosted Wordpress blog by using one of the many plugins that are available. One of the most popular ones is the Tweet My Blog plugin that you can get for free from here.
